Meet the Controller

Tara Michele Zrinski, a dedicated advocate for social justice and sustainability, brings a wealth of experience to her professional and community endeavors. With a background as an elected official, educator, author, and environmental advocate, Tara has demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing equity and community well-being.

Currently serving as Northampton County Controller, Tara oversees county budgets and operational procedures, ensuring transparency and efficiency. Her previous role as a Northampton County Commissioner involved chairing several committees, including those focused on energy, environment, and economic development, as well as serving on various boards such as the Lehigh Northampton Airport Authority, Lehigh Valley Planning Commission and Wildlands Conservancy.

Tara's professional experience in the solar industry spans over a decade, including roles as a consultant and independent energy advisor. Her work in solar energy has involved managing large projects, providing exceptional customer service, and advocating for policies that support underserved communities.

In addition to her political and environmental work, Tara has a robust academic and writing background. She has taught philosophy at DeSales University and Northampton Community College, contributed as a freelance writer, and authored a book on logic and philosophy. Her educational credentials include a Master of Pastoral Counseling and a Master of Theological Studies from Moravian Theological Seminary, complemented by a recent certificate in Governmental Accounting and Reporting.

Tara's dedication to community service is further highlighted by her involvement with organizations such as Food and Water Watch and her role as a former Director of Lifespan Faith Development. Her passion for advocacy and commitment to creating inclusive, supportive environments align well with her interest in contributing to her mission as a public servant.
